When you look back on the history of the world, what people stand out to you? In other words, who do you actually remember?
Chances are, it’s someone who was a free thinker. Someone like Shakespeare, Einstein, Socrates, Aristotle, Picasso, MLK, etc..
All people who are known for the different ways they viewed the world. Shakespeare viewed the world as a stage. Einstein viewed physics using his “mental models.” MLK viewed the world as a place of equality and freedom.
All different viewpoints than the majority of the people at the time. You could say that being a free thinker really pays dividends. So, how does it pay to be a free thinker when it comes to Facebook Advertising?
Great question. I would love to tell you all of the “outside of the box” ways I conduct my Facebook Campaigns that results in killer ads with low CPMs. But that is a smidge above the scope of this *free* content.
I will, however, share with you a “free thinkers” strategy that has given me some solid results that you can implement into your ads today.
That is the strategy of selecting the box “Only When Connected to WiFi” and using no other interests when lookalike targeting.
This works well for obvious reasons. When someone is connected to WiFi they likely aren’t roaming around and distracted. They’re somewhere comfortable and focused on what they are doing.
Most likely, they’re stationary and sitting down inside a coffee shop or the comforts of their own home. They are more likely to actually notice your ad, click it, and start to research your product. In other words, they’re ready to whip out their credit card at a moments notice when they see your killer ad.
It doesn’t only work on retargeting campaigns either, that’s just what has worked best for me. I think this simple button may be key for a few extra conversions because people are in a more comfortable spot while on WiFi and not roaming.
