“Advanced matching lets you send us (Facebook) hashed customer identifiers along with your pixel events in order to help you attribute more conversions and reach more people.”

Now you know what it is, let’s dive into if it’s good or bad for your performance.

Since FB will be able to better match your conversions to customers, it’ll help with the following:

1) Increasing the number of people in your custom audiences

2) Decreasing your cost per conversion since you’ll be getting more conversions/data overtime

Since Facebook will have more information on each conversion this will make your lookalikes that much better. Facebook will be able to do a better job at finding people on Facebook that are similar to the people in your lookalike source audience which should result in higher performance.

Setting Up Advanced Matching

1. On your Business Manager menu go to Pixels

2. Click ‘Open in Events Manager’ after selecting your Pixel

3. Click ‘Settings’ under your Pixel Name

4. Scroll down till you see it

5. Turn it on
